Woodsong Worship
Curly Oregon Myrtle
Redwood

Body: Woodsong Worship 14-fret

Woods: 25-year-old seasoned California Redwood top, master grade Curly Oregon Myrtle back and sides, hand-selected Honduran Mahogany neck.

Fine stripe Macassar Ebony fretboard, binding, end graft, and heel cap. African Blackwood bridge, Ziricote headplate.

Construction Details: The Woodsong body shape is a Randy Reynolds design. Beautifully shaped with elegant shoulders, this OM sized guitar has the perfect balance in size and acoustic power. Construction with hot hide glue and fish glue. Braced with Swiss Moon Spruce. The neck is well seasoned Honduran Mahogany, which was hand-selected for its light weight and resonance. The fine stripe Macassar Ebony, used on all the appointments, has become a rare find in recent years. Gold mother of pearl is used for the wheat pattern rosette, offset fretboard markers, and side markers. Unslotted bone pins with shell dots, highly polished water buffalo bone nut and saddle.

The bridge and bridge plate are slotted for long-term life and resistance to string ball wear. The bridge plate is a radius laminate of Eastern Hard Maple and Brazilian Rosewood, ensuring a long lasting plate that helps maintain the top radius.  Finished in no longer available McFadden nitrocellulose lacquer.

Highly polished stainless steel frets will require little to no fretwork in this guitar’s lifetime. The frets are set in a faux-bound fretboard, hiding the tangs. An LR Baggs Anthem Tru-Mic system is installed, providing both life-like acoustic pickup and a piezo mic to support stage work where feedback may be an issue. Tuning machines are German Schertlers. The Worship model includes the dove of peace inlaid at the 19th fret.

A very well balanced guitar, weighing 4 lbs 6oz with the Anthem sound system. This Woodsong is resonant and powerful with bright trebles, lush mid tone, and strong bass notes.

Notes: Reynolds neck C-block construction with UTBs glued and pinned to the C-block for added upper bout rigidity. Includes a TKL Concept 2.9 hard case.

000-42 Pre-War Homage
Brazilian Rosewood
Adirondack Spruce

Body: 000-42 Brazilian Rosewood Pre-War Homage

Woods: Very old and rare master grade Brazilian Rosewood. Mastergrade old-growth Adirondack Spruce. Honduran Mahogany neck, Adirondack bracing. Bridge, fretboard, and headplate Brazilian Rosewood.

Luthiers: Built for me by Master Luthier Todd M. Stock of Greenridge Guitars. I collaborated in its design and construction. This Triple-0 was built alongside its matching sibling, a 42-style dreadnought.

Construction Details: This is a 000-42 12-fret built to 000 pre-war specs, from tracings of original period Martins. An homage second to none. Grained nitrocellulose binding, and the most vivid handpicked abalone shell frame this stunning instrument. Mastergrade old-growth Adirondack spruce has even grain spacing across the top – a characteristic rarely seen in Adirondack spruce guitars built in the last sixty years. The Brazilian Rosewood presents incredible color depth with old-growth landscape ink in the sides, as one would expect a pre-war 42 or 45 series instrument to possess. Extremely dark Brazilian Rosewood is used in place of ebony, for the bridge and fretboard, to improve the guitar’s sonoral presentation. The headstock, inlaid with a traditional abalone flower pot, is beautifully bound in nitrocellulose binding encasing the heavily landscaped Brazilian Rosewood headplate. Pre-war scalloped Adirondack spruce bracing pattern. Period correct center strip in the backset. Based on an early 40’s Martin, the neck specifications reproduce the soft-v neck profile and volute. The pyramid bridge represents the earlier construction example of this instrument, as Martin used such a bridge until around 1930.

Stainless steel frets and a hidden bolt-on neck ensure a lifetime ability to maintain this instrument in top shape. The bolt-on neck block is carefully made with a front face plate which hides the bolts and maintains an internal original look. Waverly tuners with ivoroid buttons. Nitrocellulose pickguard.

A fingerstyle dream, exceptionally well balanced. Trebles are bright, the mid-tones lush, and the bass is tight and balanced.

Notes: This is a one-of-a-kind 000. Search far and wide, the woods are simply no longer available, and craftsmanship in an instrument like this comes along once in a while. In collaboration with Todd Stock, this instrument was a several year pursuit of mine, with attention to every detail.

Body: D-42 Brazilian Rosewood Pre-War Homage

Woods: Very old and rare master grade Brazilian Rosewood. Mastergrade old-growth Adirondack Spruce. Honduran Mahogany neck, Adirondack bracing. Bridge, fretboard, and headplate Brazilian Rosewood.

Sound reinforcement is a custom configuration – LR Baggs Anthem with Tru-mic, coupled with 3 piezo elements mounted on the bridge plate in place of a UST. This allows for a full microphone/piezo pickup system without the interference of a UST under the through saddle.

A sonoral powerhouse, this guitar sounds as good as it looks. Powerful, balanced, with a fast attack and projection. Trebles are bright, the mid-tones lush, and the bass powerful and tight.

Notes: This is a one-of-a-kind dreadnought. Search far and wide, the woods are simply no longer available, and craftsmanship in an instrument like this comes along once in a while. This was a 2-year pursuit of mine, with attention to every detail. Comes protected in a Hiscox case.

0 size Brazilian

Body: 0 size, 12 fret slothead

Woods: Brazilian Rosewood back and sides, Curly California Redwood top, Honduran Mahogany neck, Brazilian Rosewood Fretboard,  headplate, backstrap, African Blackwood binding, Macassar Ebony bridge.

Construction Details: Based on a 1914 Martin 0, fully scalloped bracing, forward X, Bolt-on neck, rosewood/maple laminate bridge plate, green abalone headstock flower pot, fretboard snowflakes and diamonds, purfling, rosette and end graft inlays. Vintage tuners.

Notes: This guitar was built in collaboration with luthier Chris Verhoeven and inlay artist Rachel Quinn. The single 0 is an exceptionally easy guitar to play, its size welcomes an afternoon on the sofa with easy reach and comfortable body fit. The trick with these guitars is to get bass out of the small air volume. This is accomplished by careful bracing, top tuning and a few tricks around the air volume and soundhole size. This instrument has amazing bass while maintaining lush but well defined mids and trebles. Redwood has the property of warmth like cedar but with more tonal clarity like spruce. The addition of a longer 25.34″ scale provides additional power to drive the top and maximizing volume – a consideration with a stiff red spruce top.

0 size Honduran Mahogany

Body: 0-21, 12 fret slothead

Woods: Honduran Mahogany with Beeswing figure, Red spruce top, Honduran Mahogany neck, Madagascar Ebony Fretboard, Ebony pyramid bridge, Macassar Ebony binding, Brazilian Rosewood headplate

Notes: Constructed by Luigi Morelli. This guitar has fantastic note definition in part thanks to the red spruce top, and well developing bass notes. The addition of a longer 25.34″ scale provides additional power to drive the top and maximizing volume – a consideration with a stiff red spruce top.
